Haven, Invited to the Toronto Global Forum, Shares How Sexual Assault Impacts the Economy

Haven, the leading campus safety app for universities and colleges, attended the Toronto Global Forum to share its insights on sexual assaults.

TORONTO, November 10, 2021 — Haven, the leading campus safety app company for universities and colleges, attended the Toronto Global Forum at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto to share its insights on sexual assaults and its impact on the economy.

Haven CEO Nelson Lee spoke with hundreds of business-leaders, policy makers, and government officials while attending talks hosted by other Toronto Global Forum presenters, such Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland.

"We were extremely honoured to be invited to the Toronto Global Forum. It was encouraging to see that many Ministers and influential business-people were proud of the work being done by Haven" says Haven Co-Founder and CEO Nelson Lee.

The Toronto Global Forum is an international conference fostering dialogue on national and global issues held by the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA).

Haven has been working for the past 8 months to create an app that helps improve campus safety. Haven was created after co-founders Nelson Lee and Ethan Hugh learned about the prevalence of sexual assaults and harassment at universities across Ontario in August 2020.

In March 2021, Haven was accepted by the University of Toronto's incubator, the Hatchery, to join their NEST 2021 Summer Program, which provided connections, mentors, and resources to help Haven succeed in its mission.

Haven released its app, ‘Haven – Safety Locator & Alert’, on the App and Google Play Store in September 2021. The Haven app can download here: bit.ly/DownloadHaven.
